Major Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading food manufacturing business in the UK, which is looking for a Materials Planning Manager
As a Materials Planning Manager, you will ensure the timely and controlled availability of packaging materials and products to support the production function
There is a full-time on-site role with the flexibility to work from home on a Friday
Key Responsibilities of a Materials Planning Manager
Develop, lead and manage the Material Planning team - Drive the team's best practice, appraisal, mid-year reviews and personal development plans
Development of supplier performance monitoring systems and continuous improvement programmes
Review all stock replenishment systems & processes with continuous improvement methodology
First escalation point for poor supplier performance/supply shortage
Develop & maintain stock replenishment KPI Dashboard and communicate to key stakeholders
Placing contracts (4- 13 Weeks Demand) & call-offs (1-3-week demand) to cover forecasted volume and production plans
Collaborating with Supply planning, Demand planning, PLM & Commercial to ensure all information is correct and present to enable call-offs and contracts to be accurate and timely
Full end-to-end management of suppliers covering short- & long-term demand, expedition of materials where appropriate, chasing of short or late deliveries and any other queries that could arise in the day-to-day management of the suppliers.
Support S&OP / Mini S&OP process where necessary.
Skills required to be a successful Materials Planning Manager
Previous experience in food manufacturing
Leadership experience
Highly analytical with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data in a simple and easy-to-understand format
Experience in scheduling, planning or a related area, with strong knowledge of SAP/ERP/MRP systems
