Job Title: Functional Skills Maths Tutor (SEN / SEMH Experience Preferred)
Area: Croydon, CR0
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Part-time, Long-Term
Salary: £140 - £200 per day (dependent on experience)
Working hours: 3 days per week (9:30am - 3:30pm)
About the school:
A specialist alternative provision based in Croydon offering tailored education for students with additional needs including SEN and SEMH. The school provides a supportive and structured environment where learners can progress both academically and personally.
About the role:
You will deliver Functional Skills Maths lessons to small groups of students aged 11-16 with a focus on engagement, differentiation, and progress. This is a part-time, long-term role ideal for someone passionate about making a difference.
We're looking for a dedicated candidate to:
Plan and deliver engaging Functional Skills Maths lessons
Differentiate work to suit individual needs
Build positive relationships with learners
Work alongside support staff to meet EHCP targets
Promote behaviour that supports learningRequirements -
The ideal candidate would have:
QTS or teaching qualification (desirable)
Experience working in SEN/SEMH or alternative provision settings
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Understanding of Functional Skills Maths curriculum
