A thriving secondary school in Tower Hamlets, recognised as a teacher training school, is seeking a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to support their outstanding Maths department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to gain classroom experience ahead of a PGCE or teacher training programme.
The Role – Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant
* Providing in-class support across KS3 and KS4 Maths lessons
* Running 1:1 and small group interventions for students who need extra help with numeracy, problem-solving, and exam preparation
* Covering lessons in the teacher's absence (pre-set work provided) and maintaining engagement and behaviour
* Helping to plan and deliver engaging and accessible maths activities
* Supporting learners with SEN or EAL by adapting work and providing targeted guidance
* Being a positive and encouraging presence, helping students build their confidence in maths
Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant requirements
* A recent Maths graduate (2:1 or above preferred)
* GCSE and A Levels in Maths
* Strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for maths education
* A desire to become a teacher – perfect for those considering PGCE/SCITT routes
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Experience working with young people is a bonus (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, camps)
* Able to commit full-time (Monday to Friday) through the academic year
