Maths Instructor - Northampton
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Start Date: ASAP or January 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential for Permanent Placement
Daily Rate: £100-£160 (depending on experience & qualifications)
Are you confident delivering Maths lessons and supporting students in a secondary school setting?
Do you have strong subject knowledge and classroom presence, even if you don't yet hold formal teaching qualifications?
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a number of welcoming and well-resourced secondary schools in Northampton, seeking dedicated Maths Instructors to join their departments ASAP or from January 2026. These roles are ideal for individuals with experience in tutoring, cover supervision, or unqualified teaching who want to gain valuable long-term experience in education.
What You'll Do:
Lead engaging and structured Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Deliver content aligned with curriculum plans, often using pre-prepared materials
Support students of all abilities, adapting your delivery where needed
Foster a positive, focused classroom environment
Track progress and provide feedback under the guidance of qualified teachers
Contribute to school life, supporting clubs, interventions, or enrichment activities
What We're Looking For:
Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics - a degree or equivalent background is beneficial
Previous experience in tutoring, cover supervision, or working with secondary-aged learners
Confident classroom management and effective communication skills
A proactive, organised, and professional approach to teaching and learning
A genuine passion for helping young people succeed in Maths
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
