Big classes. Endless worksheets. No chance to ask for help without feeling stupid.
No wonder some of them give up.
That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a Maths Intervention Teacher to work in specialist learning hubs across the Mansfield area.
These aren’t mainstream classrooms – they’re small, calm groups where students get the support (and time) they’ve been missing.
You’ll be teaching 1:1 or groups of 4–8 students, helping them rebuild the basics, fill the gaps, and – ideally – stop seeing maths as something to fear.
It won’t be easy. Some students have been out of school. Some have zero confidence.
But when you see a kid go from “I can’t do this” to “Oh, I get it now” because you found a way to make it click – that’s the payoff.
The deal:
* Long-term, full-time role (starting September – we’ll wait for the right person)
* £150–£180 a day
* Based in nurture-focused hubs, not crowded classrooms
* Supportive team who understand how to work with these learners
What you’ll need:
* QTS or PGCE
* Confidence teaching maths flexibly across different ages and abilities
* Patience, creativity, and resilience – these kids will test you before they trust you
* The willingness to ditch the one-size-fits-all approach if it isn’t working
