Teacher of Maths 

Location: Newport, Wales
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time contract, Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:10pm. 

Pay: £172.98 to £200 per day (depending on experience.)

A welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Newport is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of Maths to join their team from September 2026 on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire curiosity and a love of Maths across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, within a supportive and well-resourced department.

ECTs/NQTs and experienced teachers are warmly encouraged to apply.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Maths lessons across the curriculum, supporting pupils to develop a strong understanding of the subject. You will play a key role in raising attainment, promoting mathematical thinking, and encouraging a sense of curiosity and discovery in learners of all abilities.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Ability to teach Maths across KS3 and KS4
Strong subject knowledge
Enthusiasm and passion for Maths education
Excellent classroom management skills
Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
Strong commitment to pupil progress and achievement

Desirable:

Experience teaching GCSE & A Level Maths 
ECT/NQT applications welcomed
Understanding of the Curriculum for Wales

Essential Safeguarding & Compliance:

Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
Two professional references
