The Role:
Depending on the school, responsibilities may include:
Teaching Mathematics across KS3 and KS4 (with KS5 opportunities in some schools)
Delivering clear, engaging lessons that build confidence and understanding
Planning, marking, assessment, and tracking pupil progress
Supporting pupils of mixed abilities to achieve strong outcomes
Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and engagement
Contributing positively to the Maths department and wider school community
Who We're Keen to Hear From:
Qualified Maths Teachers with QTS/QTLS (essential)
ECTs seeking the right school for their next step
Experienced teachers looking for stability, progression, or a fresh environment
Teachers relocating to or within the Southampton area
Maths specialists confident delivering GCSE Mathematics (any exam board)You do not need to have formally resigned - this role is about planning ahead and finding the right opportunity for September.
Contract Details:
Position: Maths Teacher (QTS)
Location: Southampton
Start Date: September (new academic year)
Contract Type: Full‑time, long‑term or permanent
Salary: £32,916 - £51,047 per annum (M1-U3, paid to scale)
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
QTS/QTLS required
Secondary Maths teaching experience preferred
Safeguarding training required (can be provided)
Eligibility:
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Two recent teaching references
