Lead Practitioner of Mathematics
Location: Westminster
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an inspirational and experienced Lead Practitioner of Mathematics to join a highly academic secondary school in Westminster. This pivotal role requires an outstanding mathematician and educator who will model exemplary teaching practice, lead curriculum development, and significantly contribute to raising attainment across the department and the wider school. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing teaching and learning strategies, mentoring colleagues, and fostering a love for mathematics among students.
The Role
The Lead Practitioner of Mathematics will:
* Model outstanding teaching and learning, supporting colleagues to develop their practice.
* Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of an ambitious mathematics curriculum across all key stages.
* Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers, including ECTs, to enhance pedagogical approaches.
* Utilise data effectively to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions.
* Contribute to whole-school teaching and learning initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an outstanding Maths Teacher (QTS/QTLS) who:
* Possesses a proven track record of excellent teaching and securing strong student outcomes in Mathematics.
* Has significant experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity within a Maths department.
* Is passionate about innovation in mathematics education and current pedagogical research.
* Demonstrates outstanding communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
