Permanent, Part-Time Special Education Needs Maths Teacher job vacancy in Ferndown, Dorset Are you a passionate Maths Teacher with experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Benefits * £25,320 – £34,900 per annum (M1–M6 Actual Annual Salary) * Permanent, Part-Time, Term Time Only * 4 Days per week – Monday to Thursday * Life assurance * Competitive pension scheme * Health cash back plan * High street discounts & Employee assistance programme * Fully funded training and qualifications Duties As a Special Education Needs Maths Teacher, you will: * Plan, deliver and assess engaging Maths lessons tailored to the needs of students working at Entry Level 2, Entry Level 3 and GCSE Maths. * Support young people with social, emotional difficulties, anxiety disorders and mental health needs. * Manage and respond effectively to challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies. * Work to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), attend Personal Education Plan (PEP) meetings and contribute to Looked After Child (LAC) reviews. * Develop a curriculum that is individualised, aspirational and supportive of each student’s personal learning goals. * Collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, pastoral staff and other teaching colleagues to provide holistic support. Criteria Essential: * PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification * Evidence of ongoing professional development or in-service training * Ability to teach Entry Level 2, Entry Level 3, and GCSE Maths Desirable: * Experience teaching within a specialist or SEN environment * Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team * Strong classroom management and communication skills (written and verbal) * Proficiency in lesson planning, assessment and monitoring of student progress * Good IT skills and understanding of technology in learning support * Ability to remain calm, reflective, and solution-focused in challenging situations * Organised, proactive and able to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines * Able to build positive and enabling relationships with students to inspire engagement and achievement.
