Are you a confident and compassionate Maths Tutor with a passion for supporting young people with additional needs?
We are seeking a dedicated Maths Tutor to work with two young learners in the DT3 area for a total of 5 hours per week. The role involves teaching Maths and Functional Skills Maths, with flexibility around days, times, and location of tuition. Transporting the learners to and from sessions is required, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
👩🏫 About the Learners:
Student 1 (Age 15): Available Monday or Tuesday, has a diagnosis of ASD, a great sense of humour, and is working towards Functional Skills Maths.
Student 2: Age to be confirmed, requires support with Maths and may experience anxiety when meeting new people. Available every day but Monday.As a Maths Tutor you will:
Deliver engaging and tailored Maths tuition to meet individual learning needs.
Support learners in building confidence and foundational skills.
Create a nurturing, patient, and positive learning environment.
Transport learners safely to and from tuition sessions.About you:
Experience teaching or tutoring Maths (Functional Skills or KS3/GCSE level).
Experience working with young people with SEND, particularly ASD and anxiety.
A warm, approachable, and flexible teaching style.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).Position - Maths Tutor

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
Trauma-informed and skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- Desirable
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
