Mazak CNC Miller Job Type: Full time Start Date: ASAP Duration: Permanent Location: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire Salary: £22 Per Hour Sector: Engineering One of our Engineering clients are seeking a skilled CNC Miller/Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their team in Stonehouse. The CNC Miller/Programmer will have proven competence in programming and operating Mazak machines, with a preference given to those experienced in Mazak machining centres J600, I800T and VNC510. Th client is based in Stonehouse, near Stroud in Gloucestershire. Duties and Responsibilities:  Programming: Create, edit, and prove out CNC programs using Mazatrol and/or ISO programming. Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD/CAM data, and work instructions to develop machining programs. Optimise CNC programs for efficiency, accuracy, and tool life. Setting & Operating: Set up Mazak CNC machines (lathes/machining centres) including tooling, fixtures, and workholding. Operate machines to produce precision components to tight tolerances. Carry out first-off inspections and make any necessary adjustments. Quality Control: Use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, CMM, gauges) to ensure all parts meet specification. Maintain high standards of accuracy and surface finish in line with engineering drawings. Document inspection results and ensure compliance with quality procedures (ISO 9001 / AS9100 where applicable). Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce cycle times and increase efficiency. Support lean manufacturing initiatives and contribute to problem-solving activities. Assist in tooling selection and development to enhance productivity. Maintenance & Housekeeping: Carry out basic machine maintenance and ensure machines are kept in good working order. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with company health & safety standards. Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet deadlines. Support the training and development of less experienced operators when required. Qualifications, Experience and Attributes Required: Demonstrate expertise in machining high-value exotic materials, including Nickel Alloy, Inconel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium Bronze. Be proficient in reading and interpreting imperial drawings. Show strong decision-making skills and the ability to perform first article inspections. Work effectively within an AS9100 quality management system. Must have experience with Programming and Operating Mazak Machines.
