Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to join our Pre-Construction team on a contract basis, supporting early-stage project development through technical design reviews, construct-ability assessments, and RFI coordination. This role is critical in ensuring design integrity and smooth handover into construction.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
Review mechanical and electrical design drawings for construct-ability, compliance, and coordination
Provide technical input during design development and value engineering
Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to resolve design issues
Draft, track, and respond to RFIs during pre-construction
Support bid evaluations and scope clarifications for M&E packages
Assist in preparing technical documentation and design commentaries
Participate in coordination meetings and clash detection reviews
Ensure alignment with project specs, codes, and client requirements
Maintain accurate records of design reviews and RFI responses
🧠 Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
Experience in pre-construction or design coordination within the construction sector
Strong understanding of building services and M&E systems
Familiarity with RFI workflows and design review processes
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Proficiency with BIM tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) and document control systems
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills🌟 Desirable Attributes
Experience in data centre, commercial, or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
