Job Description
Flintshire County Council is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our Streetscene team. This role involves specialist and technical operations in vehicle maintenance, requiring a high level of skill, technical knowledge, and experience.
The role will play a key part in maintaining the Council’s Fleet Operator’s O Licence and contributing to a wide range of Streetscene services.
Location: Mold Road, Alltami, Mold, Flintshire, CH7 6LG
Contract: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Pay: £21.50 per hour (umbrella)
Start: ASAP
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain, service and repair all Council vehicles, plant and equipment in line with relevant legislation and Council policies.
* Follow verbal and written instructions, complete daily schedules and use mobile communication and IT systems as required.
* Plan, check and supervise Streetscene colleagues to ensure required standards of work are achieved.
* Undertake manual and supervisory duties, including HGV driving and operating specialist vehicles and equipment.
Requirements
* Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, particularly HGV and specialist vehicles.
* Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
* Full HGV licence desirable.
