Mechanical Assembler / Fitter
£30,420.00 plus overtime
Multi-skilled Assembler / Fitter is required by a long established and respected Engineering Manufacturing Company. This interesting role is to work on various types of assembly and fitting to a high standard for equipment used in the food processing industry.
Main purpose of the Mechanical Assembler / Fitter:
To assemble and fit all aspects of manufacturing components to a very high standard used to produce stainless steel processing equipment.
You must be able to work within a team, either in the main production area or if applicable on a client’s site and be aware of all aspects including Health & Safety, Production, Inspection and Discipline.
Duties for the Mechanical Assembler / Fitter:
* Experience in mechanical motor fitting/stripping and rebuilding.
* Experience in building air pneumatics.
* Experience in building and fitting bearing housings.
* Candidates need to be able to read and have good understanding of engineering drawings.
* Be proficient with the use of various hand tools and mechanical equipment.
* Have significant experience of building special purpose machinery.
* Experience in Hydraulics.
* Maintain good housekeeping/good order, motivation and discipline while working in the factory or on site.
* Uphold Health & Safety – Risk assessments/Method statements.
You will be required to supply basic hand tools, other specialised tools will be supplied.
Skills, experience for the Mechanical Assembler Fitter:
City & Guilds Qualifications in Engineering would be an advantage or a good engineering background.
Hours of work for the Mechanical Assembler Fitter:
You would be contracted to work 39 hours per week, Monday – Friday with a 10 minute break 10.00 am - 10.10 am and ½ hour lunch-break 1.00 pm - 1.30 pm. (half day working on a Friday)
Overtime is generally available paid at 1.5 times hourly rate Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings.
