Job Description

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Assembly Engineer to join a well-established aerospace company based in Poole, Dorset. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a reputable organization that specializes in precision engineering for the aerospace industry. Salary: £14.00 - £16.50 per hour (depending on experience and skills) Hours: Flexible start times (7:00 AM or 8:00 AM) with corresponding finish times (4:00 PM or 5:00 PM). Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week basic, with options to condense hours into fewer days. Responsibilities As a Mechanical Assembly Engineer, your key responsibilities will include: Performing sub-assembly of machined components to meet aerospace standards and requirements. Tasks such as: Staking bearings. Installing Heli-Coils. Valve assembly. Beading using sealants (e.g., PR1770). Conducting self-inspection and testing of finished products to ensure quality and compliance. Reading and interpreting 2D drawings and assembly instructions/techniques. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Proven experience in mechanical assembly, ideally within the aerospace or precision engineering sector. Familiarity with aerospace standards and requirements. Ability to read and understand 2D engineering drawings and assembly instructions. Experience in pressure testing (advantageous but not essential). Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Day-to-Day Your typical day will involve: Collaborating with a skilled team to assemble high-precision aerospace components. Utilizing your technical expertise to ensure all assemblies meet stringent quality standards. Performing self-inspections and testing to verify the functionality and reliability of finished products. Working with a variety of tools, materials, and techniques to complete assemblies efficiently and accurately. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace to uphold safety and productivity.
