Job Description
Know How Resourcing is recruiting a Mechanical Assembly Technician for our client based in Leeds. Someone with solid hands-on skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to keep pace with a busy production schedule.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Building and assembling precision mechanical and electrical components to production schedules, specifications, and drawing tolerances
* Using conventional milling, turning, and drilling machinery (yep — proper hands-on engineering, not just button pressing!)
* Applying your bench fitting and welding skills to produce quality assemblies
* Performing precision mechanical or electrical assembly work with a craftsman’s touch
* Maintaining high standards of quality in line with QA and manufacturing standards
* Using and maintaining hand tools and workshop machinery safely and efficiently
* Keeping your workspace and workflow organised using 5S principles — because chaos belongs in action movies, not in engineering
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in a mechanical assembly or precision engineering environment
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
* Competent in manual machining (milling, turning, pillar drilling)
* Skilled in bench fitting and welding (MIG/TIG or similar)
* Background in mechanical or electrical assembly work
* Good working knowledge of quality assurance standards in manufacturing
* A practical understanding of 5S and lean principles
* A team player who takes pride in high-quality work and enjoys a challenge
