Job Description

Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical Bias Location: Leyland, Lancashire Job Type: Full-time - Days Competitive Salary and Industry Leading BenefitsWe are looking for a Maintenance Engineer for a global business to work out of their Leyland plant to ensure their production site operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maintaining our high standards. Day-to-day of the role: Implement daily, weekly, and monthly inspection routines to identify and rectify issues before they lead to breakdowns. Conduct maintenance and repairs on single and 3-phase electrical systems, 24V control systems, and instrumentation. Handle maintenance and repairs on various types of pumps, agitators, presses, valves, and pipework systems. Ensure the site's compliance with statutory requirements such as emergency lighting, legionella control, and PAT testing for new items. Provide input for process modifications and participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance site performance.Required Skills & Qualifications: HNC/ONC in Engineering, or equivalent, with relevant experience in manufacturing and a good knowledge of factory operations. Time-served electrical apprenticeship, fully compliant with 18th Edition IEE, testing and inspection, and CompEX regulations. Time-served mechanical apprenticeship. Proficient in repairing and maintaining pumps, valves, gearboxes, chain & belt drives, conveying systems, palletisers, and filling lines. Skilled in fault finding, reading electrical drawings, and rewiring 24V, single and 3-phase equipment. Excellent communication, planning, and interpersonal skills. Experience in an ATEX environment and a good working knowledge of PLC's & SCADA systems, particularly Allen Bradley & Wonderware systems, is highly advantageous.To apply for the Maintenance Engineer position, please submit your CV by clicking apply
