Job Description
A great opportunity has arisen for a mechanical building services design engineer to join a well-established building services consultancy with a reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable M&E design solutions throughout various sectors including commercial and large scale domestic.
Job Description:
Develop mechanical design solutions for HVAC, plumbing, and other building services systems.
Produce detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports using AutoCAD and Revit (BIM Level 2).
Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess existing systems and inform design decisions.
Collaborate with electrical engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure coordinated designs.
Support energy and thermal modelling activities and Part L compliance assessments.
Assist in the preparation of performance specifications and tender documentation.
Attend project meetings and liaise with clients to understand requirements and present solutions.
Contribute to value engineering exercises and cost control discussions.Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:
Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
Hands on experience in mechanical building services design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with thermal modelling software is a plus.
Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and sustainability principles.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to attend site visits and progress meetings.Additional Details:
