Job Description

A new opportunity for Mechanical Design Engineer is available with my client who are leading machine builder within food & beverage, pharmaceutical and similar industries. Based in Bedfordshire, their ideal candidate will be locally based, well versed in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, machinery design, creation of pneumatic schematics and detail drawings of assemblies, parts, fabrication etc.

Mechanical Design Engineer role:
• Creation of Mechanical designs in SolidWorks
• Creation of Sales layout drawings in either SolidWorks or AutoCAD
• Mechanical design of machinery in line with customer requirements and/or user specifications
• Creation of Mechanical bills of material (BOM)
• Creation of 2D detail drawings, assembly, part, fabrication etc.
• Creation of pneumatic schematics
• Liaising with the other design teams to ensure accurate and optimal mechanical designs
• Identify potential product improvements and support implementation
• Construction of machine manuals and technical documentation
• Provide technical support to the shop floor teams during machine construction
• Complete in-house documentation as part of our client’s commitment to quality such as test plans, validation documents etc.
• Effectively liaise with in-house personnel as required to resolve build and design issues

Mechanical Design Engineer requirement:
Qualified to a relevant mechanic engineering qualification
Proven experience in mechanical design of machinery
Proven experience of using a 3D mechanical design packages ideally SolidWorks / AutoCAD
Experience of pneumatic systems.
Hold a valid passport
Prepared to travel to customer/suppliers in the UK and overseas for site surveys and/or issues
Excellent communicator

Mechanical Design Engineer package:
Salary - £45k - £55k
Occasional overtime
Company Pension
25 days holiday + bank hols
