Job Description
Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of exciting projects from concept through to release at their site in Bridgwater. You’ll be working at the heart of a fast-paced technical department, designing bespoke solutions for high-specification environments.
Mechanical Design Engineer – The Role
* Lead the mechanical design of products from concept through to production release
* Produce detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks
* Develop and maintain Bills of Materials, technical documentation, and manuals
* Support the full product lifecycle, including design for manufacture and continuous improvement
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring cutting-edge designs to life
* Conduct internal testing and assist in the development of product test methods
* Provide technical support across the business
Mechanical Design Engineer – The Person
* A strong conceptual designer with the ability to deliver innovative, practical solutions
* Proficiency in SolidWorks and strong knowledge of engineering drawing standards
* Solid understanding of modern manufacturing methods across a range of materials
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Strong communicator, able to liaise effectively with colleagues, clients, and suppliers
* HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* Comfortable working under pressure and managing your own workload independently
