The Mechanical Design Engineer Role:
This is a hands-on design role where you’ll deliver technical design packages throughout the product lifecycle. You'll be involved in:
* Creating accurate 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using Siemens NX
* Designing injection moulded plastic and fabricated metal parts
* Managing CAD data, reviewing designs from suppliers and customers
* Supporting prototype builds and customer fitment trials (including site visits, UK and overseas)
* Solving engineering challenges with a practical, problem-solving approach
* Participating in cross-functional reviews to deliver robust designs on time and to budget
The Successful Mechanical Design Engineer:
* Approximately 5+ years of mechanical design experience
* Proficiency with Siemens NX including surface modelling (A-class), assemblies, and 2D drawings
* Strong background in plastic injection moulding
* Understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and automotive standards
* A relevant HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
