Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services South East (Office-Based with Project Engagement as Required) £50,000 – £60,000 per annum + Benefits Full-time, Permanent Low carbon focus. Design ownership. Projects with real impact. A well-established and expanding M&E contractor is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing in-house design team. Working closely with the Design Manager, you’ll be responsible for producing technically sound and energy-efficient mechanical designs across a range of education, commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. You’ll play a hands-on role in the design process from Stage 3/4 onwards—creating detailed layouts, calculations, specifications, and modelling reports using industry-standard software. This role suits a technically capable engineer who enjoys responsibility, is passionate about low-carbon design, and is confident managing their own workload within a collaborative team.
