Job Description
White Label is exclusively representing an engineering and manufacturing business in Hyde that require a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for designing bespoke equipment, fixtures, and tooling, working closely with production and projects to ensure designs are efficient, safe, and cost-effective.
My client is offering a salary of £35,000 - £40,000, 25 days holiday + stats and workplace pension. The working hours are Monday – Friday 08:00 – 16:30 with flexibility around start and finish times.
Responsibilities of the Design Engineer
* Produce 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and manufacturing specifications
* Carry out design calculations and materials selection where required
* Work with production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
* Support project delivery from concept through to manufacture
* Create and maintain accurate documentation (BOMs, drawings, specs)
* Liaise with customers and suppliers on technical queries
Experience Required of the Design Engineer
* 2+ years’ experience in a mechanical design engineering role
* Proficient in 3D CAD (ideally SolidWorks)
* Good knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes (fabrication, machining, welding)
* Ability to take a design from concept through to production
