Job Description
Role – Mechanical Design Engineer position
Location –Based close to Diss, Norfolk
Working hours – Monday to Friday – Full time hours
Rate of pay – £45,000 per annum
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Our client is currently recruiting for a Design Engineer to join their busy drawings office, Applicants will need to have worked in a similar position previously and will be conversant with working with 2D/3D practises.
Main duties will include –
Converting conceptual ideals into practical designs using Solidworks and AutoCAD design packages.
Creating prototypes to test designs and gather feedback which helps refine the final product range.
Managing costs during the design and production process
Maintaining details records of design processes and specifications.
Compiling bill of materials for the production process and to ensure that the correct materials are ordered in for the product range
Candidate attributes –
Previous experience as a Design Engineer or a similar role
Working experience using Solidworks and AutoCAD software;
Good understanding of safety standards and environmental impact of a design
Ability to present in front of stakeholders and managers
Excellent oral and written communication
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field
