Mechanical Design Engineer – Nuclear Sector North West – Hybrid working An exciting opportunity to enter the nuclear sector We are working with a growing nuclear engineering company, they are expanding their team and looking for talented Mechanical Design Engineers to join them. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to build a long-term career within the nuclear industry, with outstanding prospects for professional development, specialist training and progression. The company is open to Mechanical Design Engineers from a variety of engineering backgrounds, including oil & gas, rail, aerospace, defence and automotive. If you have strong mechanical design experience and are looking to transfer your skills into the nuclear sector, this could be an ideal next step. The Role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will contribute to the delivery of complex engineering projects, developing practical and technically robust mechanical design solutions within a highly regulated environment. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and develop your knowledge of nuclear engineering, project delivery, design standards and safety-critical systems. The role offers a fantastic platform for a Mechanical Design Engineer to broaden their technical expertise while gaining valuable experience on major nuclear projects. About You We are keen to hear from Mechanical Design Engineers who have: * A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. * Professional experience in mechanical design engineering. * Experience using relevant engineering design tools and techniques. * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. * An interest in working within the nuclear sector and developing expertise in a highly regulated environment. * Experience from nuclear, oil & gas, rail, aerospace, defence, automotive or another technically demanding engineering sector. * A Full UK Driving licence is essential. Previous nuclear experience is not essential.
