Mechanical Engineer
Location: Bank, London
Salary: £46,000
Hours: Split Shifts – 7:00am to 4:00pm / 10:00am to 7:00pm (Monday to Friday)
A leading facilities management provider is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a dedicated on-site team at a prestigious commercial building in the City of London (Bank).
The successful candidate will take responsibility for delivering high-quality mechanical maintenance across the site, with a strong emphasis on cooling towers and associated plant.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on all mechanical building services and systems
*
Perform maintenance, testing, and cleaning of cooling towers and water systems
*
Maintain and repair pumps, valves, pipework, and HVAC plant
*
Support daily operations and ensure building services run efficiently
*
Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults quickly and effectively
*
Ensure all maintenance work complies with health & safety, statutory, and environmental standards
*
Work closely with other engineers, contractors, and the client to ensure smooth site operation
*
Complete maintenance records, logs, and service documentation accurately
Skills & Experience Required:
*
Recognised mechanical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / HNC)
*
Proven experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within a commercial building or critical environment
*
Strong working knowledge of cooling towers and associated systems – essential
*
Familiarity with HVAC systems, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, and water systems
*
Good communication skills and a proactive, professional attitude
*
Ability to work split shifts and adapt to site needs
