Job Title: Building Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30)
On-call Requirement: 1 in 5 weekends
Salary: £35,000 - £42000 per annum + excellent benefits
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Building Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to join our Estates team. This role is essential in delivering a high-quality maintenance service across our hospital and associated sites, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Perform planned preventative maintenance in line with departmental schedules.
Respond promptly to emergency and reactive maintenance requests.
Ensure all work complies with Health and Safety regulations, COSHH, and internal policies.
Participate in the on-call rota and attend site as required.
Liaise with and supervise external contractors.
Provide technical support and guidance to hospital staff.
Maintain accurate records of equipment audits and rectify any faults.
Participate in fire safety duties and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation.
Candidate Requirements
Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
Experience in a hospital or similar environment is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.
General knowledge of fire safety regulations.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
