Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Cambridge
Shift: Monday- Friday 40 Hours
Duration: 18 Months
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Typical Day in the Role
Looking for strong industry background in opto-mechanical environments and agile non-managerial profiles as the job requires individual contributions in the optomechanical design, fabrication and testing areas.
Required skills:
* Expert Solidworks including PDM
* Significant experience in the design and implementation of motion systems requiring sub micrometre accuracy and alignment
* Hands-on experience with methods of fabrication to include light machining and 3D printing
* Experience of tolerancing and specifications for production
Desirable:
* Familiarity with optical systems including free space optics, waveguide/fibre optics, monolithic optical design.
* CAM for CNC machining
* Simulation tools (preferably Ansys)
Typical Day in the Role:
Design, source, assemble and test mechanical systems required to support the project. Interactively take and develop requirements from the team to find appropriate solutions in a collaborative environment. The team is agile and priorities and tasks can change rapidlyBefore You Apply
