Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: Exeter Industry: building and construction Salary: £42,882 - £45,413 per Annam Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Role Overview Daniel Owen are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Estates Services team for one of our key clients. This is a fantastic permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary, sector-leading benefits, and the chance to be part of a forward-thinking estates department driving towards Net Zero 2040. This role offers hybrid working, with a minimum of 3 days on site per week Duties & Responsibilities As a Mechanical Engineer, you will: Deliver mechanical building services engineering and manage maintenance contracts. Support the University's Carbon Management Strategy through low and zero carbon projects, renewable technologies, and decolonisation programmes. Work on major new build projects, refurbishments, long-term maintenance, and smaller capital works. Collaborate with the Sustainability Team, Built Estate, Space Management, and Administrative teams. Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and stakeholders across the University. Contribute to the delivery of net zero by 2040. Requirements Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services. Strong background in building services engineering, estates, or facilities management. Experience in delivering and managing maintenance contracts. Knowledge of low carbon/renewable technologies (desirable). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
