Job Description

We are currently looking for experienced Mechanical Fitter in the Knaresborough area. 

Contract - Initial 3 months with possibility to be extended or gone permanent. 
Start - ASAP - will wait if there is a notice period 
32 Days annual leave for the year (prorated if contract less than 12 months) 
Pay £25 an hour PAYE - Weekly Pay 
Location - KnaresboroughThe working hours for this role are as follows:

Week 1: 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday
Week 2: 10pm - 6am Monday - Friday 

Key responsibilities

Rectify problems on mechanical assets such as conveyor belts, pumps, gearboxes, valves and cranes
Carry out Fabrication work and general workshop duties.
Be responsible for PPM and Reactive maintenance work, ensuring the highest standards are set and maintained.
Assist with and actively participate in planned outages.
Operate Workshop machinery, fabrication, and refurbishment.
Communicate problems and concerns promptly through line management ensuring quick resolution.
Assist in delivering Maintenance Team KPIs. 

Qualifications Needed:

Time Served
Mechanical Technical Apprenticeship
Level 3 NVQ3/ BTEC
Maintenance Engineering
CSE/GCSE equivalent
IOSH Managing
Safely - Desirable 

Experience 

Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings/ documents.
Experience/knowledge of safe systems of work including permit to work, method statements and risk assessments.
Ability to carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks.
Ability fault-find and repair mechanical assets.
Good communication.
Experience writing Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
