Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join a successful machinery manufacturing business based in Wellingborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that designs and builds high-precision slitting machines for the converting industry, with opportunities to get involved in installations both in the UK and internationally.
Location: Wellingborough
Shift: Monday-Friday (Full Time)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience) + Bonus
Duties:
Assemble and fit a range of machine units including bearings, seals, pulleys, pneumatics, hydraulics, servo motors and more
Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings and schematics
Install hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems
Operate workshop equipment (drills, grinders, etc.)
Conduct machine testing prior to shipment
Carry out UK and international installations, upgrades, and repairs
Inspect parts using precision tools and assist in preparing spare parts
Collaborate with build and engineering teams to solve issues and drive improvements
Participate in project planning and continuous improvement activitiesThe ideal candidate must:
Have solid mechanical fitting or machine-building experience
Hold a valid UK driving licence and passport for occasional travel
Be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Have good communication and problem-solving skills
Electrical knowledge and/or forklift licence would be an advantage (training provided if needed)Benefits:
