Job Description
Our client is a specialist fabrication and mechanical contractor that delivers emergency standby diesel generator systems, technology, and integrated engineering services to the global energy industry. Their solutions support our clients in optimising their efficiency by ensuring the performance, reliability, and safety of critical equipment.
The Multi-skilled Mechanical Fitter role will encompass the following responsibilities:
* Provide mechanical fitout/installation of acoustic generator enclosures
* Read drawings, identify components, and assemble/fitout items including engines, radiators, LV switch gear, weather louvres, exhaust systems, silencers, motorised inlet dampers, internal fuel day tanks, and SCR systems
* Maintain good quality and efficiency
* Flexibility to carry out mechanical fitting and welding small components into position
* Competent use of plant and equipment, including range forklifts up to 25t, boom arms, MEWPs, and overhead cranes
* Ability to jack and skate high-value items into position
* Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to health and safety requirements
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* Engineering qualification (advantageous)
* Willingness to carry out site work with a commitment to overtime when required
Skills and Competencies:
* Strong mechanical fitting skills
* Welding proficiency
* Experience with heavy machinery and equipment
* Attention to detail and high-quality standards
* Good housekeeping and safety awareness
