Mechanical Fitter - As a result of growing demands for our client’s range of bespoke locomotive diesel and battery engines focusing on zero emissions and an increasing number of exciting development programmes, they are seeking a Mechanical Fitter.
Mechanical Fitter Role:
Key job aspects include interpreting technical drawings, adhering to safety regulations, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
Assembly and Installation: Constructing and assembling mechanical systems, machinery, and components according to technical drawings and specifications.
Testing and Adjustments: Conducting tests to ensure machinery functions correctly after assembly or repair and making necessary adjustments.
Safety Compliance: Adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations, including completing required risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Collaboration: Working effectively with other team members to complete installations and meet project deadlines.
Technical Aptitude: A strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and fitting techniques.
Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring equipment.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
Blueprint Reading: The ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
Communication: Effective communication skills to work with teams and report on work completed.
Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to ensure all parts fit correctly and meet quality standards, problem-solving and Safety protocols.
Mechanical Fitter Requirements:
* A completed apprenticeship or vocational training as a Mechanical Fitter.
* Proven experience working as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and machinery.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
* Problem-solving skills.
* Attention to detail and precision in work.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
