Mechanical Engineer (Foot Mobile) - Central London
Location: Central London (Marble Arch to Aldgate East, majority between Regent Street and Moorgate)
Salary: £49,000 - £51,000 + Overtime Available
Reports to: Technical Services Manager
Type: Mobile (Foot Mobile)
Role: Technical Support / Small Works / Cover
Role Overview
You will operate as a mechanically biased engineer providing maintenance, reactive support, and small works across a portfolio of commercial properties in Central London. The role involves ensuring all mechanical systems operate efficiently and reliably while supporting electrical and fabric maintenance when required. You will also assist with plant replacement projects, shutdowns, and provide cover for holidays and absences within the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Reactive Work
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to all mechanical and building services systems, including HVAC, pumps, motors, valves, AHUs, FCUs, chilled water and heating systems, and associated controls.
Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and fault calls, diagnosing mechanical faults and implementing effective repairs.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve the performance, reliability, and efficiency of plant and equipment.
Support small works, shutdowns, and plant replacement programmes as required.
Technical & Compliance
Ensure all mechanical plant and equipment remain in serviceable condition, with faults and defects rectified quickly to minimize downtime.
Prepare and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for all works to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
Manage and maintain stock of spare parts to support both planned and reactive activities.
Oversee Permit to Work systems and ensure all tasks are carried out safely and in accordance with statutory and site requirements.
Complete all documentation accurately and promptly, including maintenance records, service reports, and updates to the CAFM system (e.g. Maximo)Before You Apply
