Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a strong plumbing/mechanical background to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across a commercial building. The ideal candidate will have experience with water treatment systems, including cooling towers and Legionella compliance (L8).
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance tasks.
Maintain and repair pumps, pipework, valves, heating systems, and general plumbing infrastructure.
Conduct routine inspections and testing of water systems in line with L8/Legionella control requirements.
Support cooling tower operations and ensure compliance with water treatment protocols.
Assist with general building maintenance and support other engineering functions as required.
Complete service records, logbooks, and compliance documentation accurately.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety and site procedures.
Requirements
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering.
Strong experience in commercial building maintenance.
Knowledge of water treatment systems, cooling towers, and Legionella prevention (L8 compliance).
Understanding of HVAC systems and associated mechanical plant.
Good communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
Flexibility to support out-of-hours work or call-outs if needed.
Desirable
L8 Awareness/Legionella Control Certification.
City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering or equivalent higher-level qualification.
Previous experience in commercial office buildings or facilities managementBefore You Apply
