Are you a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for a new challenge in a dynamic and forward-thinking manufacturing environment?
My client are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team on permanent day shifts at their site in the Whitefield/Radcliffe area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on routine maintenance work but also enjoys being involved in projects that improve and enhance plant performance.
The company operates within the chemicals sector and supply in to some of the most prestigious names across the automotive and marine industries. The maintenance team consists of 3 people an this position has come around due to internal promotion. The company has invested significantly in the site in the past 5 years, with the latest investment being a £1m LEV system.
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing:
*
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a range of mechanical plant and equipment such as mixing equipment, rotary equipment, mainly gearbox, chains etc,
*
Responding to breakdowns and carrying out fault-finding and repairs
*
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and engineering projects aimed at increasing reliability and efficiency
*
Working closely with production teams to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity
*
Maintaining accurate records of work completed and parts used
✅ What We’re Looking For:
*
Time-served Mechanical Engineer or equivalent (HNC/HND/NVQ Level 3)
*
Solid background in maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment
*
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
*
A proactive mindset with a passion for improving machinery and processes
*
Comfortable working independently on days, but also collaborating as part of a wider team
