Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our clients engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a range of press machines and associated mechanical equipment within our manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a focus on ensuring equipment uptime and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Execute scheduled PPM tasks in line with the site’s maintenance strategy and OEM guidelines.
Maintain and repair mechanical components such as hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gears, couplings, and conveyors.
Collaborate with production and planning teams to coordinate maintenance without disrupting operations.
Respond promptly to breakdowns and faults on press machines and related mechanical systems.
Diagnose root causes of mechanical failures
Minimise machine downtime and ensure a fast return to production while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Provide support during equipment failure investigations and implement lessons learned.
Assist in the refurbishment and overhaul of press machines during scheduled downtime.
Support the installation and commissioning of new or modified equipment.
