Salary: circa £53 plus benefits (bonus, healthcare, sharesave)
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our clients team, bringing expertise in maintaining complex mechanical systems in high-hazard environments. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and safety of plant assets, supporting production goals, and upholding the highest standards of compliance and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance, inspection, and repair of mechanical plant equipment including pumps, gearboxes, valves, heat exchangers, and agitators.
Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
Work in accordance with statutory, regulatory, and internal safety and quality standards.
Support the development of apprentices and less experienced team members.
Participate in safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and work safely in all weather conditions and confined spaces.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
BTEC (ONC), City & Guilds, or NVQ Level 2 in a relevant mechanical discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience post-apprenticeship on a COMAH site (preferably Top Tier).
High Risk Confined Space (NC4), Asbestos Awareness (CAR 2012), and Mechanical Joint Integrity certification (ECITB or equivalent).
Proficient in SAP S4HANA and Microsoft Office.
Desirable Attributes:
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Flexible, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
Experience working with hazardous materials and understanding of Basis of Safety (BoS) principlesBefore You Apply
