Our client, a leading provider of comprehensive mechanical and electrical services, is seeking a Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their operations team based in Derby, UK. This permanent, full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to work in the data centre sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out a wide range of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks in line with industry standards such as SFG20
Conducting routine daily, weekly, and monthly system checks and completing all necessary documentation and reports for each task
Providing clear and effective communication with on-site engineering teams and preparing weekly reports for the Facilities Management (FM) supervisor
Maintaining all mechanical and electrical plant services to the highest industry standards
Supervising the work of external contractors, ensuring all activities are compliant with risk assessments, method statements, and health and safety permits
Maintaining all statutory engineering maintenance records and ensuring they are readily available for audits
Responding to and completing client service requests in a timely manner to meet agreed service level agreements (SLAs)
Playing a key role in the out-of-hours call-out rota for the site
Job Requirements:
An Advanced Level 3 NVQ in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or HVAC (or a similar equivalent qualification)
A Full UK Driving Licence
Demonstrable experience in commercial mechanical maintenance, ideally within a critical environment such as a data centre or clean room
Strong technical knowledge and practical experience with a range of mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, pumps, and control systems (e.g., BMS and BeMS)
Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills to quickly identify and resolve issues
The ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Proficiency in using a computer and Microsoft Office applications
Good communication and customer service skills
IOSH - Managing Safely qualification
Desirable Qualifications:
City & Guilds F-GAS and ODS Regulations (2079)
IPAF, PASMA, or other relevant access qualifications
