Mechanical Project Engineer
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join a well-established and growing client. You will lead the design, development, and delivery of new electromechanical products, managing projects from concept through to production using SolidWorks and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept to release.
* Create and manage 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings in SolidWorks.
* Ensure designs meet functionality, cost, manufacturability, and performance targets.
* Conduct FEA and DFM/DFA evaluations.
* Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
* Coordinate testing, compliance, and certification activities.
* Prepare and maintain technical documentation (BOMs, datasheets, instructions).
* Identify opportunities for cost reduction and design optimisation.
* Support existing product improvements and engineering changes.
Requirements:
* HNC or higher in Mechanical/Design Engineering (or equivalent apprenticeship).
* Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling, assemblies, drawings).
* Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
* Experience with project management and NPI lifecycles.
* Familiarity with PDM, ERP, and project tracking tools.
Working hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30am - 17:00pm & Friday 08:30am - 14:00pm.
Salary: Competitive.
