Mechanical Project Manager
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a leading and long-established M&E Building Services Contractor based in London, with an impressive turnover of around £75 million.
Renowned for delivering high-quality projects across a variety of sectors, including commercial, healthcare, banking, data centres, industrial, and office fit-outs, with typical project values ranging from £250k up to £10m.
The Role:
Due to the recent award of a significant new project, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Manager to oversee the mechanical delivery on a major Data Centre project located in Hemel Hempstead.
The ideal candidate will bring solid experience managing mechanical packages on M&E projects, with a preference for candidates who have previously worked in Data Centres or other mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the mechanical scope of the project from pre-construction to handover.
* Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, and the internal team to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Work closely with the electrical project manager to ensure seamless M&E integration.
* Oversee mechanical installation, commissioning, and final handover.
* Prepare project documentation including RAMS, progress reports, and O&M manuals.
* Ensure the project complies with all health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Requirements:
* Demonstrable experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within the M&E Building Services sector.
* Preferably have experience on Data Centre or mission-critical projects.
* Excellent understanding of mechanical building services systems (e.g., HVAC, chilled water, plant rooms).
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* SMSTS, CSCS, and relevant mechanical qualifications/certifications.
