Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Project Manager role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will:
Project manage mechanical handling design projects from tendering to commissioning.
Prepare estimates, tenders and functional/technical design specifications.
Manage projects and a team of multidisciplined engineers.
Liaise with external suppliers and client representatives.
Comply with relevant regulations and procedures.
Manage effective and 'on-time' service delivery.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Qualified to minimum HNC in mechanical engineering.
Proven track record in managing complex mechanical engineering projects, and a demonstrable background in the design and application of mechanical handling systems across a diverse range of large turnkey engineering projects.
Relevant people management experience
Experience in project and contract management, estimating and tendering.
Familiarity with NEC contract conditions
Knowledge of relevant, current statutory legislation, including the European Machinery Directive
Personal skills
The Mechanical Project Manager role would suit someone who is:
Has the flexibility to attend various sites across the UK when required
Proven proficiency in liaising with client representatives and external bodies.
High regard for effective record keeping.
