MK-Search have partnered with a well respected in house M&E division of a larger main contracting group who are looking for a mechanical site manager to join their special works and decarbonisation division working on a number of interesting upcomigng projects across central London
The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate experience in the mechanical services industry and hold a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or Pipefitting. You will be responsible for delivering mechanical works safely, to a high quality standard of installation and on time, while also contributing directly to pipework installation activities as required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and supervise day-to-day mechanical installation activities on-site. • Manage direct labour and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project plans and safety standards. • Liaise with clients and main contractors, project managers, and other site trades. • Monitor and enforce health & safety compliance, including RAMS, toolbox talks, PPE checks, and site inductions. • Track progress against programme, identify risks or delays, and report to project management. • Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, time sheets, and material / plant requisitions. • Participate in site meetings and inspections, including snagging and handover preparations • Read and interpret drawings to ensure installations capture design construction issue drawings and specifications. • Management of orders for pipework fittings and hire of plant. • Assist with mechanical testing, commissioning support, and fault resolution. • Ensure works meets quality standards and regulatory requirements. • In some circumstances there will be a requirement to undertake installation of pipework and general plumbing installations to meet with a project arrangement. Requirements:
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing or Pipefitting • CSCS card – Skilled Worker (Gold) or Supervisor (Black) • SSSTS or SMSTS (preferred or willing to obtain) • First Aid at Work (preferred) • Full UK driving licence Experience: • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical building services. • Experience managing site-based installations on live construction projects. • Pipefitting or plumbing background with hands-on installation skills • Good understanding and knowledge of mechanical commercial systems. Skills: • Ability to manage and motivate small teams. • Strong understanding of construction site operations and H&S standards • Good communication and problem-solving skills • Able to read and work from mechanical drawings and specifications. • Microsoft literate, with experience in Microsoft Office Word/Excel and communicating via email
