Job Description

BMSL require an experienced Mechanical Supervisor for a commercial project in Glasgow city centre please find a rough guide to a job specification below.
Supervise and coordinate a team of mechanical operatives, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety protocols.
  * Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity, quality, and worksite discipline.
  * Provide technical support and guidance to team members and subcontractors.
  * Project Execution
  * Assist in the planning and scheduling of mechanical works in line with overall project timelines.
  * Ensure mechanical systems are installed and commissioned in accordance with drawings and regulations.
  * Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, and other supervisors to ensure integrated delivery of services.
  * Inspect mechanical works regularly to ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and quality benchmarks.
  * Address any installation issues or defects and implement corrective actions promptly.
  * Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and handover documentation.
  * Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture on site.
  * Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings with the mechanical team.
  * Ensure correct PPE is worn and all site-specific safety procedures are followed.
  * Manage material deliveries and stock levels for mechanical components on site.
  * Ensure all equipment is safely operated, maintained, and accounted for.
  * Report material shortages, damages, or delays to the project team promptly.
  * Extensive experience in mechanical supervision within construction or building services environments.
  * Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical system installation techniques.
  * Ability to lead and manage teams effectively under tight schedules and changing site conditions.
  * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  * Valid CSCS/ECS card, SSSTS/SMSTS certification, and relevant mechanical qualifications
