Job Description
Position: Mechanical Supervisor
Location: East Grinstead
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Type: Full-time, Permanent

Mechanical Supervisor Role:
Lead and manage the South East Depot Engineering department (PDI Engineers, Electrical PDI Engineers, Workshop Engineers, Labourers). Ensure operational efficiency, health & safety compliance, and high-quality standards for all equipment prepared and delivered to customers.
Mechanical Supervisor Responsibilities:
Enforce compliance with H&S standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Lead, support, and develop the depot’s engineering team, driving performance, training, and continuous improvement.
Oversee daily engineering operations, including generator PDI processes, stock, logistics, site surveys, installations, and breakdown support.
Provide out-of-hours call-out support (rota-based).
Ensure equipment is maintained, serviced, and repaired to manufacturer/company standards.
Manage inventory, stock replenishment, and InspHire records to ensure operational readiness.
Mechanical Supervisory Experience:
Proven experience in a leadership role within equipment hire or power generation.
Engineering background in plant/diesel engine maintenance (generator knowledge preferred).
Strong compliance and safety understanding within engineering environments.
