The Role
We are looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to support the delivery of mechanical projects across Suffolk. Acting as the company’s on-site representative, you will oversee the installation and progress of all mechanical works. Previous experience working on MOD or Defence sites would be advantageous, but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the surveying and costing of new projects.
Review all subcontractor RAMS and Method Statements, identifying and raising any concerns.
Procure materials and equipment to ensure all work is completed within the agreed KPIs.
Arrange hire of plant and access equipment as required (e.g., MEWPs, cherry pickers, scaffolding).
Support with booking in parts and allocating them to the correct operatives.
Carry out regular compliance checks on operatives, ensuring all certifications and IDs (e.g., Gas Safe, VIVO ID) are current.
Ensure all Authorised Person (AP) requests are submitted promptly to prevent delays.
Conduct return-to-work interviews for team members following sickness absence, when required.
Provide operational performance data as requested and suggest improvements where possible.
In this role, you’ll coordinate and manage the mechanical team to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You’ll assess the scope of work, oversee site activities, deliver toolbox talks, and work closely with the QHSE Manager to maintain the highest health and safety standards.
