Job Description

Wolviston are currently recruiting a Mechanical Technician on behalf of our client, a leading operator in the chemical, oil and gas sector.

 This position plays a key role in maintaining the reliability and safety of mechanical systems within a COMAH-regulated environment.

 Key Responsibilities
  
Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across site equipment. 
Repair and maintain rotating equipment including pumps, seals, bearings and associated systems. 
Maintain valves, pressure safety devices and pipeline equipment. 
Support tank inspections including mechanical isolations and boxing/unboxing activities. 
Carry out hazardous area mechanical inspections. 
Assist with lifting operations, rigging and maintenance of cranes and winches. 
Support fire pump testing and safety-critical equipment routines. 
Ensure all maintenance work is completed in accordance with site safety procedures and permit systems. 
Record maintenance activities within the CMMS system.  Requirements
  
NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent apprenticeship. 
Experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, or chemical environments. 
Experience maintaining pumps, valves and rotating equipment. 
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs. 
Mechanical CompEx 11 certification desirable.
