The role of a Medical Director
You will play a pivotal role as a senior member of the Hospital’s management team, providing medical leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable patient care. You will be responsible for upholding contractual standards while fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement across the operational team. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strong clinical leadership and governance, including chairing quality and governance meetings.
* Lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, patient-centred care.
* Drive service development and strengthen integration between the Portsmouth and Southampton sites.
* Oversee risk management, ensure compliance with clinical standards, and monitor staff performance.

Registration on the GMC Specialist Register.

A minimum of 7 years’ experience as a Consultant (or equivalent practice).

Proven management experience within the NHS or private healthcare sector.

The ability to inspire confidence, command respect, and lead effectively across multidisciplinary teams and multiple sites.

A strong commitment to clinical excellence, governance, and innovative service development.
