A well-respected and inclusive secondary academy in Enfield is looking to appoint a dedicated Medical Officer to provide first-class healthcare support to students and staff. As a Medical Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of young people, helping them succeed both academically and personally. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality medical care and first aid as the school’s lead Medical Officer, responding promptly to any incidents or health concerns. Maintain accurate and confidential records of medical incidents, treatments, and student healthcare plans. Collaborate with parents, carers, and external health professionals to ensure effective medical support is in place for students with chronic conditions or complex needs. Manage medical supplies and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Provide guidance and training to staff on medical procedures, first aid, and best practices in student healthcare. Support the school’s attendance and safeguarding teams by contributing to care plans and promoting student wellbeing. Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and compassion in your role as a Medical Officer. Ideal Candidate: Relevant healthcare qualification and experience working in a clinical, educational, or first aid setting. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies. A genuine passion for promoting the health and safety of young people. A flexible, team-oriented approach and the ability to work independently when required. Excellent record-keeping and administrative skills. A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one). Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
