A specialist SEMH school in Maidenhead is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Mental Health Assistant to join their team. The school supports children and young people aged 8-18 with complex emotional and behavioural needs, providing tailored, therapeutic education in a supportive environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates interested in educational psychology, therapy, SEN teaching or mental health support work. Full training will be provided, and you'll have the chance to work closely with experienced therapists and psychologists, observe interventions, and develop a strong foundation of practical skills.
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
Promote emotional wellbeing, engagement and positive behaviour
Assist in implementing learning and behaviour plans
Work collaboratively with the school's therapy and pastoral teams
Receive training in therapeutic approaches and behaviour support
Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology or a related subject (or relevant experience) Passionate about supporting children with additional needs Resilient, empathetic and able to build trusting relationships Keen to develop a career in education, mental health or therapy
